Mosley generating interest
Posted May 2, 2013

Defensive end Rajshawn Mosley of Indianapolis (Ind.) Arsenal Tech has the physical tools to excel at the next level. Mosley talks about his game, what he does well, and how he'll fit into a 3-4 scheme. He also explains what schools are showing interest.

Standing out during a spring workout this week at Arsenal Tech (Indianapolis, Ind.) was defensive end Rajshawn Mosley. At 6-foot-3, 240-pounds, Mosley excels as a pass rusher.

“I can get to the quarterback and get off the block pretty quickly,” Mosley said. “I go with the flow and just attack what the offensive gives me. This year, we are going to a 3-4 scheme, so I’ll also play some tackle.”

Mosley visited Indiana, Illinois, and Northern Illinois this spring. He says he keeps in touch most with Northern Illinois.

“I went to junior day at Northern Illinois, and it was fun,” Mosley said. “They showed a lot of love. Campus was really nice. They really just said they’re waiting on the head coach to offer. Schools are saying they want to build a personal relationship with me, and I have done that with Northern Illinois.”

Louisville is another school interested in Mosley.

“[Louisville assistant] Coach (Shawn) Watson came by this spring,” Mosley said. “They were the first school to visit. They like that I’m versatile, and they like my film a lot. Louisville plays a 3-4 too.”

This off-season, Mosley is working on playing the game faster.

“I need to pick up a new defense and get smarter and play the game faster,” he said. “I need to not think so much, and just let the game come to me.”

Mosley is also generating interest from Indiana, Toledo, and Cincinnati. This summer he’ll hit a few camps in hopes of turning more heads.

“I’ll visit a few more places this summer,” Mosley said. “A lot of one-day camps. I am going to the Nike camp in Illinois on Sunday, and I know we are going to Ohio State’s one-day camp.”

Mosley is looking for a school that offers more than just football.

“I’ve talked about it with my mom, and we went a place that has good coaches and gives me a good education, and a place that prepares me for the next level,” he said.

Mosley had 12 sacks last season and five tackles for loss against Cathedral High School (Indianapolis).
