Blankenship with 13
Grant Blankenship, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound defensive end from The Colony (Texas) High has been a recruit who continues to see his stock rise. "Update on Grant Blankenship," said the recruiting coordinator at high school. "Grant currently has 13 offers: Ole Miss, Kansas State, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Baylor, Texas Tech, SMU, Cincinnati, Tulsa, North Texas, Houston, and San Diego State." The Colony has been a revolving door for big-time college programs stopping in to see the talented Blankenship during the spring evaluation period. It is not slowing down anytime soon. "(Blankenship) had recruiters in from Oregon, Arkansas , Northwestern, Cal, and Arizona State this week. All are bringing their Defensive Coordinators back next week." Blankenship passes the eyeball test and is hoping that his strengths at the position help to continue to earn him more opportunities. "My agility and the way I can bend," Blankenship answered when asked about his strengths on the field, which have colleges taking note. "I have a lot of room to grow and just get faster and bigger." Previously Blankenship has noted Baylor and Ole Miss as schools of a high interest, but is keeping options open. "You really just get to dissect each and every team and see where you really want to go," Blankenship said. "And the more schools the better obviously, to just get more types of schools and a better variety of schools (to choose from)."
