Oregon Gets Its Quarterback

For the second time in four years, Oregon is going with a career-backup with the initials "MM" as their quarterback commit.

Kentfield (Calif.) Marin Catholic quarterback Morgan Mahalak committed to Oregon on Tuesday, hours after the Ducks offered him.  Mahalak was the backup at Marin Catholic last year to four-star quarterback Jared Goff, now at Cal.

And the Ducks are hoping they struck gold again with a backup, after Marcus Mariota committed to Oregon in 2010, despite not being the starter, and also backing up an FBS signee.  Mariota was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2012 and led the Ducks to a 12-1 season and a win in the Fiesta Bowl.
