2015 Intro: Jalen Dalton
"I recently picked up my first offer from Virginia," said Jalen Dalton. "It was exciting, but I realize I'm not finished yet." Dalton has been impressed by the Cavaliers' coaching staff. "Virginia has a really good coaching staff," he said. "I've talked with Coach (Vincent) Brown, the defensive line coach. I'm planning to go up there and visit sometime in June and I'm looking forward to meeting Coach (Mike) London (head coach)." The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Dalton is also hearing Duke, East Carolina, Florida State, Michigan, North Carolina and North Carolina State. Other than Virginia, he said Michigan and North Carolina are recruiting him the hardest. Dalton only made one trip last year, but it was a good one. "I went to North Carolina for their game against N.C. State and it was a great experience," he said. "The campus was very nice. I was really impressed by everything up there." Along with Virginia, Dalton said he plans to try to get to all the schools that offer him this summer. Then this fall, Dalton said he definitely plans to attend games at N.C. State and North Carolina. He also mentioned a possible trip to Florida State. Dalton's main focus is on his upcoming season. "I've got to be more of a leader," he said. "Hopefully, we can win some more games. We just have to keep working hard in the weight room and just stay together as a team." Update: Dalton was offered by North Carolina earlier this week.
