Warren De La Salle (Mich.) junior linebacker Jared Wangler is the newest member of the Penn State class.

Linebacker U added another one today as Jared Wangler, a 6'2, 210-pound junior from De La Salle Collegiate in Warren, Michigan, committed to Penn State today on a visit.

Wangler had additional offers from Michigan State, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Toledo, Western Michigan and others. His father, John Wangler, was a quarterback for Michigan.

"He told Coach O'Brien he wanted to be a Nittany Lion," his father said.

He was offered by the Nittany Lions in early April, making them his first BCS offer.

"I'm really excited," he said at the time. "Penn State's a great school. It's Linebacker U, so I'm really fired up about it."

He visited with his grandfather then, and returned Friday with his father to allow him to see the campus and meet the staff before making his commitment.

Stay tuned for more from him shortly.
