White's Busy Weekend

Brady White

FOX Sports NEXT caught up with Newhall (Calif.) Hart High 2015 quarterback Brady White, who talked about unofficial visits, the Elite 11 experience and more...

Newhall (Calif.) Hart 2015 quarterback Brady White, (6-1, 175), led his team B2G 5 Star to the IMG 7v7 West Regional Championship this past weekend in Fullerton, California.

White, who had received Offensive MVP just two weeks before in the B2G 7on7 tournament, has shown some serious talent during this offseason.

Starting as a sophomore last fall, White had an impressive year, throwing for 2575 yards on the season, with 25 touchdowns and averaging over 200 passing yards per game.

Although White has not received any offers yet, he is looking forward to the recruiting process.

"Even though I haven't gotten any (offers) yet, Washington, Utah State, and Florida have all come through school. I'm open to any of them because I haven't gotten an offer yet. It's all been good, it just a fun process, the recruiting process and I hope it picks up soon." White said.

White has already taken one unofficial visit, but has plans to make more this summer.

"I just got back from Northwestern. I was in Chicago for the Elite 11 and went on an unofficial visit and that was good and then I just plan on getting to a couple other schools. " White said. "I plan on hitting up Vanderbilt and Duke. Then I'll go to Oregon St. and maybe USC and UCLA, but those are so close so I'm just trying to get out there, so more east coast."

White, who competed in the Elite 11 regional in Chicago last weekend, took it as a learning experience.

"It was really fun, I just went in there hoping for the best. There were a lot of great quarterbacks out there. You've got Kyle Allen, the top quarterback in the nation, and he's a stud. It was good to go out there and compete with them and just be around them and kind of gauge yourself."

Although he may have been one of the younger talents on the field, White gained some recognition and walked away with an award.

"I got an award, "The Golden Gun," so that was really exciting. I wasn't expecting it so it surprised me but it was a fun experience." said White.

The quarterback is taking opportunity this offseason to increase his build and talent.

"I'm working hard to get bigger. Obviously I can't control growing, but I'm looking to fill out for the eye test from all the coaches. Other than that just working on everything in my game from the drops to arm strength, reading coverages, timing with routes, everything." White said.

After ending the season 8-4 last year, White is hoping for an improvement overall for his team.

"I hope we have a good season, we had a good season last year too, it had a disappointing end with a rough loss, but the team we lost to won CIF so we'll see. This year hopefully we just take care of our pre-league, and every one, one at a time." White said.
