Just because a player commits doesn't necessarily mean his recruitment is over.
In the case of San Antonio (Tex.) Madison defensive end C.J. Reese, a commitment to Kansas State didn't stop other programs from coming after the 6-foot-4, 260-pound athlete.
Since announcing his decision, Reese had received attention from the likes of Texas Tech, Baylor, California, Houston, and Memphis. Though he stated last week that his commitment to the Wildcats was a "soft verbal," he's decided to go with his gut.
"Coach [Dana] Dimel and I have built a strong relationship together and with my family. I feel like I made a really good choice [in choosing Kansas State] and it isn't going to get any better than this," said Reese on Wednesday.
The chance of early time on the field further solidifies Reese.
"He said I will get playing time my freshman year," Reese said.
Now, with the weight of his recruitment off of his shoulders, Reese is focused on his final year of high school football.
