Idaho Offers Rypien
Spokane (Wash.) Shadle Park 2015 quarterback Brett Rypien has picked up his second offer. "I got in contact with Coach Bryce Erickson, Dennis Erickson's son," said Rypien. "He talked to Coach Petrino about me and they immediately wanted to offer me." Rypien is the nephew of NFL great Mark Rypien, but that isn't his only family connection to the game. "My uncle Chris Tormey used to be the head coach at Idaho, so I am real familiar with the program," said Rypien. "It is right next to Pullman, so it is nice to get both offers out here on the Palouse." In addition to his offers from the Vandals and Washington State, Rypien has interest from some top national programs. "Florida came by here a couple weeks ago. I am hearing from Boise State and Washington. Stanford has come by Shadle Park a couple times," said Rypien. "The strongest interest right now is probably from Boise State, I am going to go to their camp." That is far from the only camp Rypien plans on attending this summer. "I'm going to Seattle for the NW Elite camp, the next day we are going to be at the Skyline 7on7 and the day after that I will be in Eugene for the NFTC," said Rypien. "Then I know we have team camp and I am going to Boise State later this summer." While many Cougar fans are hopeful that he will follow his uncle's footsteps to Pullman, they will likely have to wait another year to find out. "I am pretty open minded right now, I am not close to committing," said Rypien. "I will see where things are this time next year, right now I am trying to evaluate as many schools as possible and stay committed to working hard."
