Scout 300 DB Hester Sets Two Officials
St. Joseph's-Montvale (N.J.) High four-star defensive back Kiy Hester is getting close to trimming is list and setting up visits, and his coach said a handful of schools are standing out. Hester, a 6-foot-1, 200-pounder who will play safety this season, is still trying to finalize his trimmed list but told FOX Sports NEXT he will visit Michigan State and Vanderbilt officially. Hester said he will visit Vanderbilt for the Oct. 19 game against Georgia, and he will be at Michigan State for the Nov. 2 game against Michigan. "I'd say right now it's five to seven schools that are realistic," St. Joseph's-Montvale coach Tony Karcich said. "I know Ohio State, Florida State, Vanderbilt and Miami. I know those were the four constants. The first four is pretty much universal and have been the schools he's talked about for a while." However, North Carolina and Nebraska, which visited the school this week, as well as Rutgers continues to recruit Hester hard as well. Virginia, Maryland and Georgia Tech were also schools Hester mentioned as ones he had interest in during a recent interview with FOX Sports NEXT. "I think he's pretty much status quo from what he was," Hester said. "I think in his own mind he has the five o seven schools that that he wants to investigate." Hester doesn't plan on making a decision until after his senior season, but he spoke with Karcich about making official visits during the season. "We have two bye weeks and it's unrealistic to think he can wait to make them," Karcich said.
