IMG 7v7 Hits Philly

Chris Godwin

The IMG 7-on-7 regional championship will be staged this weekend at Upper Dublin Park in Fort Washington, Pa.

Four-star Penn State receiver commit Chris Godwin of Middletown (Del.) High is one of the headliners of this weekend's IMG 7-on-7 northeast regional at Upper Dublin Park in Fort Washington, Pa.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Godwin, who was stellar during a 7-on-7 last month in the same series, will lead his Delaware Team Orange squad.

The tournament will be played today and Sunday, and feature a number of top local players. Godwin will be a primary target of Boston College commit Darius Wade of Middletown High. Alexis I. DuPont High (Wilmington, Del.) class of 2015 receiver Quadree Henderson and class of 2014 tight end Brian O'Neill of the Salesianum School (Wilmington, Del.) are also on the team.

Flash Training, which is comprised of the Eastern Christian Academy (Elkton, Md.) team, won last month's 7-on-7 and will bring their talented contingent as well.

Among those set to compete are receiver Freddy Canteen, who recently named Rutgers is leader, as well as Tennessee commit Neiko Creamer. Cornerbacks Brandon Watson and Vashon Tucher, whom both have several offers, will patrol the secondary while class of 2015 USC commit David Sills and class of 2016 standout Dele Harding are slated to attend.

The New Jersey entry features a pair of 2015 standouts from South Jersey in Paul VI (Haddonfield) receiver Irvin Charles, who recently was offered by Rutgers, and Woodbury running back/defensive back Troy Shorts Jr. Recommended Stories
