Pittsburg (Calif.) running back Harris Ross (5-11, 195), has a pair of offers, from Eastern Washington and Sacramento State.
Now Ross is hoping to see more schools get involved.
“Fresno State, San Jose State, hopefully San Diego State and Utah I think are close,” said Ross.
Ross hopes to visit a number of schools this summer.
“I’m hoping to camp at a bunch of schools like Cal, UCLA, Boise State, Arizona, Arizona State and USC,” said Ross. “I’ll take more unofficial visits when I go to the camps.”
Fresno State, Wyoming, Hawaii and Colorado were some of the schools who stopped by during the spring and all have showed Ross some interest.
“My dream school is probably UCLA,” said Ross. “I’m really interested in them.”
Ross visited UCLA and UNLV already this spring as well as nearby Cal.
“Coach (Pierre) Ingram and I are real cool and he’s the one I talk to the most at Cal,” said Ross.
Boise State has his interest largely because of Doug Martin, the current Buccaneers running back who played at Boise State.
“I’ve been watching him since college,” said Ross. “He’s the one I mostly watch. We’re similar type of backs.”
Ross said he’s hoping to get to 200 for the season.
“I want to be able to keep my speed though, but be able to take a pounding,” said Ross.
Even if the right offer came along, Ross doesn’t see a commitment as imminent.
“I’m just enjoying the process right now,” said Ross. “I still have things to work on so rushing to get offers is not something I’m working on. I’ll take whatever comes my way.”
