American Canyon (Calif.) cornerback Malik Beachum (5-11, 175), has been to a number of camps this spring and plans to do more this summer.
“I’m planning to camp with Arizona State, San Jose State, USC, Arizona, Utah and Idaho,” said Beachum.
Syracuse and UNLV have been showing the most interest in Beachum, particularly during the evaluation period and Idaho has as well.
“I talk to the coaches at Syracuse a lot and they like me,” said Beachum. “UNLV wants me to come to camp and they like me as both a receiver and corner. The UNLV corners coach likes me he most. And I’m talking consistently with Idaho and Coach (Alfred) Pupunu.”
Beachum can play on either side of the ball and he’ll pick his position based on which school he picks.
“It all depends on what school I go to,” said Beachum. “Really, what offense they run and what defense they run.
Beachum said he’s willing to wait until the fall too for offers.
“Schools said they may watch the first three games,” said Beachum. “Northwestern wants my core up and they said they’ll watch my first three games. My SAT is high enough too for them.”
