Austin Chambers has been a BYU fan all his life. Having camped with the Cougars each summer since his freshman year, it seemed to many it was only a matter of time until he chose to play for BYU. Chambers made it official this afternoon.

Offensive tackle Austin Chambers is a BYU Cougar.

The Shawnee Mission (KS) West prospect announced his verbal commitment to play for head coach Bronco Mendendhall this afternoon via Twitter after speaking with the BYU staff.

"I have committed to play football at Brigham Young University," Chambers said.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle is one of the top players in Kansas for 2014. He led the Vikings to the Class 6A State Championship in as a junior, claiming all-league, all-state, and all-metro honors for his play on the offensive line.
