McDowell impressed by Florida at camp
Plenty of prospects were at Florida camp Saturday but defensive end Garrald McDowell got plenty of individual attention from both Head Coach Will Muschamp and Defensive Line Coach Brad Lawing. The 6-foot-2, 254-pound lineman left Gainesville very impressed with the program. "The coaches were impressed, they just told me to finish through and keep on working hard," he said. "Florida, it's a nice place. I learned a lot of stuff from the coaches, especially the d-line coach, that's good." "Florida is in my top." Alabama is also in a good position with McDowell at this time and he plans to visit the Tide next week. Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Arkansas are also in the mix. McDowell hopes to make a decision before his senior season gets started and said it could even come this month. "The depth chart, the coaching staff, how they work with me (are my biggest deciding factors)," he said. "It doesn't really matter to me (where I play), I'll play defensive end or defensive tackle." The Gators are recruiting McDowell at defensive end. Stay tuned to FOX Sports NEXT for all the latest on the Louisiana lineman and his recruitment.
