"I just got offered by USC," Okereke said. "I went to their camp Sunday to compete against some of the other local kids, get my testing done and I ended up getting an offer. I worked out with the linebackers and thought I did well in the 7 on 7 and one on ones at the camp.
"I talked with Coach Orgeron and then Coach Kiffin got on the phone and told me I had an offer. I was very excited, USC is a big time program and this is my biggest offer so far. They told me they would love for me to commit pretty soon. They said they don't want to pressure me but at the same time, I can tell they would like me jump on the offer pretty soon."
Is making an early commitment something Okereke wants to do?
"I would like to make an early decision soon if I can," Okereke said. "At the same time, I would like to do some visits and see some other schools. Oregon told me to call them later tonight so we'll see if they want to offer as well. Just like with USC, Oregon told me a few weeks ago they were close so we'll see.
"I'm sure there will be some pressure on me to commit soon but I don't want to rush my decision. I don't want to commit and then have regrets right after I do it. I was planning to narrow my list soon but I wanted to wait and see what happened with USC and Oregon. Right now, I'm just excited about the offer and we'll see where things go from here."
