The Western Michigan Broncos strike first in the recruitment of Oak Park (Mich.) class of 2015 running back John Kelly.

After attending a Western Michigan satellite camp at his own high school of Oak Park last week, rising junior running back John Kelly left with his first scholarship offer.

"The offer felt really good," he said. "I really like coaching staff. Coach Huff seems like a good running backs coach. I'm interested in visiting the school and see how everything goes."

Coming up, Kelly hopes to head to more camps and continue impressing coaches.

"I'll be at Michigan and Michigan State on Wednesday and Thursday."

He just caught the eyes of several schools at Sound Mind Sound Body and will look to build relationships with those staffs as well.

"I talked to Minnesota, going there in about two weeks. I talked to Illinois as well and Ohio State some more."

Kelly also plays cornerback, but says his first offer was for offense.
