"I'm hearing from Michigan, Mississippi State talked to my Mom, Iowa, and Illinois. That's about it. I talked to Northwestern. They invited me to go to their academic profiling. That went well. They said for sure they'll recruit me and come down to Nixa during a game and watch me."
Murphy ran a 4.49 in Evanston and hopes to continue to impress the Wildcats, as they are a school he says he is very interested in.
"I really like Northwestern. They have great academics, a great team and they make feel at home. They remembered my name, remembered my mom's name, and if brought my little brother, they probably would have remembered his name too. It's very nice."
His home-state school, Missouri, has also had him to campus and he performed well in front of them.
"Missouri, they said I was among the top in my group, but I'm never satisifed with mu performance. I always want to do better and I did the best I could with my hamstring the way it was. My mom thought I did great too and she's straight up with me. They had me go from running back to wide receiver, and on defense, from linebacker to defensive back and I did fine in all drills."
As a sophomore, Murphy was an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection after rushing for 846 yards.
