Nebraska commit Tanner Farmer (Highland, Ill.) has been representing the Huskers well at The Opening. After a strong session in one on ones on Tuesday, he spoke to Scout about his experience thus far and what his Husker future may hold.

Tanner Farmer profile

You went from no offers to several in a relatively short time, kind of describe the last few months and what that's been like.
It's been very exciting. It had been very up and down for awhile. There was a lot of pressure on me about which schools to pick, but I finally found my home at Nebraska and found it was the perfect place for me.

For a kid from Highland, Illinois to come all the way out to The Opening is a pretty big deal, how has the experience been so far?
It's been unbelievable. This is, by far, the best competition I've ever been to. These guys are really good. I mean, they're the top of the top and I want to keep on getting better.

Has anyone that you've played along side or gone up against caught your eye?
I don't know any names, but I know the Samoan guys, they're really good.

Have you been recruiting anyone on behalf of Nebraska?
No, I don't know yet. I'm going to try to talk to more people, see what their options are and try to get them to go to Nebraska.

Take me back to your choice of Nebraska. Why them over the other schools?
It was just a perfect for me. Everything there was just perfect for me. I just fit there. I couldn't have found a better place.

Is there anything you want to work on before you get to campus?
I want to work on everything. I want to get better at everything. I want to be the best that I can be. I want to be the best that I can be with my hands, with my feet, with everything.

What's the plan for you when you get to Nebraska?
I'm thinking maybe right guard and I do believe I'm going to get redshirted my first year, I'm not for sure yet on that though.

Have you found any good places to eat in Lincoln?
No I haven't really, but I haven't looked into it much, so I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

What about Bo Pellini made him the coach you wanted to play for for the next four or five years?
He's a really nice guy, straight forward, and I really connected with him. I liked him right away.

What are your goals to accomplish before you leave Nebraska?
My goals are to be a four year starter, be All-Conference, maybe All-American and I want Nebraska to go to the national championship and win it.
