Grant Blankenship a star defensive end recruit from The Colony, Texas will be playing for Notre Dame in college...

Grand Blankenship, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive from The Colony (Texas) High selected Notre Dame tonight per a family member.

"Grant Blankenship verbally committed to Notre Dame this evening," the source informed

All-in-all the current three-star recruit held offers from schools like Arkansas, Baylor, California, Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas Tech and Northwestern amongst a bevy of others.

After picking up offers from the Irish and the Sooners he narrowed it to two schools. The Sooners were closer to home, but he grew up in a Notre Dame family and that was the childhood favorite.

At the end the Blue and Gold won out.

“My family loves Notre Dame, so we kind of have an Irish background," Blankenship informed

Blankenship is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 54 DE nationally.
