The Opening: Edward Paris Update
Edward Paris, a 6-foot-0, 200-pound cornerback from Mansfield (Texas) Timberview had a great time at The Opening. "It is a once in a lifetime experience being in the Capitol of Nike," Paris explained. "All of the NFL players." Paris thought it was a unique situation getting coached up by a former Alabama star, but he soaked up all of the knowledge and tried to implement it. "Dee Milliner is on our side (7v7 coaching staff) and getting coached by someone who was three and out and is the exact same size as me was pretty special." Heading in to the event Paris was not considered to be one of the favorites to contend for the Sparq title, but he finished in the Top 10. He had a 130.8 overall Sparq rating, running a 4.53 40-yard dash, a 4.27 pro-shuttle and a vertical leap of 39.7 inches. "I came out here to prove something," Paris said. "I know I do not really run 40s like that but I'm fast you know what I am saying. I came out here on a mission." Paris concentrated most of his recruiting efforts on Devante Noil. It is coming down to a LSU vs. Texas A&M battle for his signature and Paris is in his ear about staying put in Louisiana. "Due to the fact that me and Speedy (Noil) was in the challenge I talked to Speedy about it," Paris reported. "I just told him to stay home. He's already in New Orleans and I just told him to stay home."
