At 6'3, 225-pounds, Josh Corcoran is a big, physical middle linebacker prospect who burst onto the scene as a sophomore. On the strength of that season, he started hearing from colleges, and continued moving his recruitment forward this summer with camps.
"I did the NUC combine and got invited to national one. I did Iowa State, Iowa, a three-day at Madison (Wisconsin). The next one is the junior elite day at Minnesota with the Gophers. I also got invited to Florida State."
Corcoran says he received good feedback from the Hawkeyes and Badgers after his stops at their campuses.
"Iowa said they would be in touch and they would be at one of my games and they'd see me again. Wisconsin, I liked it there. They said they'd be in touch. I like the campus and like the stadium, the facility and how the players are treated."
The school Cocoran says he has received the most interest from, unsurprisingly, is Minnesota.
"I've been a lot of Gopher stuff, I have friends from high school there, one just graduated and is there on the football team. They brought me up to spring practices, I got to meet coaches, see the meeting rooms, film rooms, watched film with them. I've been there a lot."
Will that interest eventually lead to a Gopher offer? Only time will tell, but Corcoran believes he has their attention.
"They're showing a lot of interest and I have players up there helping me out with that. They seem interested and I like it up there. It's 30 minutes away from my house, so it's close."
As a sophomore, Corcoran had 62 solo tackles in nine games, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
