In what would be termed a shocker, Team Detroit took home the title in the NFL high school 7on7 held this weekend in Cleveland. The Lions held off the team from Miami to win the two-day event.

Although sporting one of the youngest teams in the NFL high school 7on7 tournament, Team Detroit pulled the upset and defeated Team Miami Saturday afternoon in the championship game in Cleveland.

Dolphins quarterback Trayon Gray, a Miami University commit, was tremendous throughout the tournament, especially throwing the deep ball. The Carol City star was the overall MVP of the two-day event, even in a losing cause.

Gray stated he could play wide receiver at the next level for the Hurricanes, but he certainly looked the part of a college quarterback this weekend.

Team Michigan won the trophy with a total team effort, getting contributions from every player on the roster.

Quarterback Jalen Brady (Southfield High School) matched Gray throw for throw in the championship, hitting the multi-talented Brian Cole whenever a completion needed to be made.

Cole, a top 2015 prospect from Saginaw Heritage, made his case as the top underclassman at the event. He made several circus catches throughout the weekend, and also starred as one of the top defensive backs at the event. Cole holds offers from the likes of Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.
