Grant Perry flew to Minneapolis with a mission: catch the eye of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and as he has all summer, the 5'11, 175-pound receiver caught everything thrown at him.
"It went well," the rising junior prospect said. "It felt like I did real well."
More importantly that feeling he did well, Perry was told by the coaches that they thought he had a good performance as well.
"Coach Pat Poore said he was really impressed with my skill set and he said he wants me to come back for a game in the fall and wants to build a relationship over the recruiting process."
Currently Perry does not have any offers, but is hearing from a number of programs including Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and more. Should the Gophers eventually offer, this weekend's camp proved to be a great first impression on him.
"I was actually really surprised how nice everything was. The practice facilities were top notch, and their game locker room was huge. All the coaches were cool. They took me and Cole Chewins on a private tour of the facilities before and after the camp."
This week, Perry plans to continue his camp tour with the final stop of the summer.
"I'll be at Western Michigan's camp Thursday."
