William Clement, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound outside linebacker/safety from Houston (Texas) Kinkaid will be playing D1.
He was receiving some light interest from Texas State, but an offer from New Mexico State in June grabbed his attention.
“It was wonderful," Clement said of the feeling he had when NMSU offered. "It was a lot of pressure off.”
He then traveled out to see the school on an unofficial visit and was blown away. The chance to see NMSU up close and in person sealed the deal and a few days later he committed.
“I really liked the way they take care of their athletes and the education they offer and how tightly they stay on top of their athletes (in the classroom)."
On the field, he feels like he can bring a blend of size and speed to the table, and has the ability to cover sideline-to-sideline.
"When it comes to coverage as a linebacker I feel like I do that well," Clement explained. "I am agile. I still want to get stronger and get my coverage better, so that is always something I am trying to improve on."
