In the past seven days 22 Midlands region recruits have made their college commitments. Scout.com catches up and takes a look at some of the headlines and headliners in this recruiting notebook...

Adams Headlines Busy Weekend

Kansas State nabbed really good prospect in Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints safety Kendall Adams. A 6-foot-1, 197-pounder, who is rangy and has been described by his coach as the best “all-around football player” on the team.

That is saying something. All Saints currently boasts TCU QB commit Foster Sawyer, Louisville FB commit Daniel Gresham, and Top 150 target OG Demetrius Knox.

Kansas State also added WR Dominique Heath (N.C.), S Kaleb Prewett (Mo.), and CB Mike Stevens (N.C.) to its commitment list.

With Friday Night Lights going on at Florida and Ohio State, Texas answered the call to arms installing its first annual edition of the ‘Texas Stampede’, billed as a late summer unofficial fun fest for the Big 12 school.

“Having blast at the Texas Stampede today. Lots of great prospects in town to see us. Fun day with future stars before our camp starts Aug. 4,” Texas head coach Mack Brown posted on his Twitter Saturday.

The Stampede netted some results. Texas snagged a commitment from South Grand Prairie defensive back Jason Hall and seems to have also added '15 OL Patrick Vahe (confirmation pending). They snuck in TCU DB commit Nick Orr, but did not extend an offer.

Future five-stars - DT Daylon Mack and OLB Malik Jefferson - made it in, but major targets like LB Edwin Freeman, CB Tony Brown, S Justin Dunning, RB Sotonye Jamabo, and CB Kris Boyd did not.

OSU Adds Two More from Texas

Oklahoma State also has added a pair of solid commitments in the past few days.

The often overlooked and currently rankings under appreciated James Washington may be the best pound-for-pound football talent in 1A. The ‘Stamford Bullet’ racks up a ton of yardage and has some special playmaking abilities. At 5-foot-11, 182 pounds, He is a quick-twitch athlete who will get better with college coaching, but has the raw skills and speed to work with. Justin Gilbert esque.

Lemaefe Galea'i, a 6-foot-4, 317-pound mammoth offensive guard prospect from Euless (Texas) Trinity is the type of player who is used to clearing lanes. He will bring instant size to the unit and you can bet that he is not done growing yet. He is still growing in to his frame and could be a different looking player in the short time frame of development between December – September. He is well coached.
