Alabama Legacy Flips to Tide

Just under two weeks after committing to Mississippi State, Tuscaloosa, Alabama linebacker Keith Holcombe will be staying closer to home. The standout backer picked up an offer from Alabama earlier today and elected to accept it.

"I have committed to play football for the University of Alabama today," messaged Holcombe. "I appreciate the opportunity Mississippi State offered me and they really did a great job in the recruiting process.

"I want to thank Coach (Geoff ) Collins and Coach (Dan) Mullen and the staff for all they did to make me and my family feel welcome.

"I made some really good friends and met some great people.

"Like I said previously, it was always been my dream to play football in the SEC.

"Since I have grown up here in Tuscaloosa and my dad played at Alabama for Coach Bryant, my ultimate goal has always been to play for the Crimson Tide.

"When that opportunity presented itself, it was one I couldn't refuse.

"To put on the same uniform my dad did is something I can't even put into words.

"I realize that I'm extremely luck to be in this situation and I appreciate my family, my teachers and my coaches for all they have done to help me reach this point.

"My complete focus now is finishing up my senior year at Hillcrest the right way both on and off the field."
