The state of Arizona has produced some quality long snappers over the years and it looks like another one is coming up through the ranks.
Scottsdale (Az.) Notre Dame Prep head coach Gary Gregory says his long snapper, Nick Reinhardt, is starting to get some early recruiting attention.
"Nick went out to the Kohl's Snapping Competition and was ranked one of the best in the country. He did so well that he was invited to be one of the two long snappers to play in the Under Armour All America Game this year," Gregory says.
He adds, "Since the results came out, I have been getting calls about Nick from schools such as Colorado and Colorado State."
Kohl's ranked Nick the #6 snapper in the country and said this about him.
"Nick won the 2013 Scholarship camp by scoring 52/55 points. He averaged a snap time of .75 seconds and scored on 16/17 snaps with 13 of those snaps going through the target. Nick also hit both big ball snaps during the final charted session to seal the top spot. He continues to snap a ball that has great rotation and shows quickness with his mechanics. Nick ran a 5.0 second forty yard dash and completed 9 reps at 185 lbs. on the bench. Nick attended the 2013 Western Showcase Event in April where he put 4 snaps through the target and finished with an average snap time of .75 second. Nick has good ball rotation and snapped with good consistency during the live charts."
