Shawn Burgess-Becker talks Gators and More

One of the most heavily recruited players for the class of 2015 is safety prospect Shawn Burgess-Becker. The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound standout talked with about the latest.

Shawn Burgess-Becker checks in from Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch High School. The talented two-way standout has plenty of options moving forward with roughly a dozen offers. Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, UCF and his latest offer Wisconsin are just a few that have extended scholarship offers.

"It's going good," Burgess-Becker said. "I picked up a new offer from Wisconsin recently. I also talked with Ohio State and Tennessee and they want to see my highlight tape. I am just waiting to hear from my coaches after they see my tape because they said they are probably going to offer."

Burgess-Becker is being recruited for the defensive side of the ball but he has plenty of potential at the wide receiver position.

"Most of my highlights are on defense so really wherever teams need me is where I will play. I have been playing defense for a little while so I can see myself making it on defense. Most of my teammates say I can cover and play downhill and make good plays. I just try and do my job."

Burgess-Becker was not able to visit for Florida'S Friday Night Light's but he was able to visit the Swamp the day before.

"I was up at Florida Thursday, the day before Friday Night Light's. I met with coach [Will] Muschamp and he was telling me to take my time and take some visits. He was telling me to go take some trips and make the decision for myself and no one else. Getting advice from any coach but especially the head coach is great. Coach Muschamp gets straight to the point and you dont get that from most coaches. I was with two other players from my team and my brother. He has always been a fan of Florida but tells me to go somewhere I want to go. I was a big Gator fan growing up. As I see it now I dont know how these teams will be in the future so you need to take those visits."
