Introducing: Jalen Washington
Frankfort High (Ky.) junior Jalen Washington is one of the more explosive talents in the state of Kentucky. FOX Sports Next caught up with Washington to find out about him and his recruitment. Last season Frankfort posted and 11-2 record behind the contributions of several players, including then-sophomore Jalen Washington. "I had a huge sophomore year, I feel like. I'm looking to do better this year," Washington said. Washington rushed for 457 yards and seven touchdowns. He caught 30 passes for 609 yards and eight touchdowns. On defense, he picked up 46 tackles and two interceptions to go along with his offensive numbers. His numbers on both sides of the ball show that the 5-foot-9, 170-pound can be an asset on either side of the ball. "I would describe myself as a slash type of player. I play every skilled position on the field," he said. Washington had a chance to camp at Kentucky, Tennessee and Louisville this summer and lists those three programs among those that he is hearing from on the recruiting trail. "I've heard from Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, Illinois State, Cincinnati, Illinois and Western Kentucky," said Washington. "I feel like Illinois State will be my first offer. Them or Tennessee, is what it looks like so far," he said. Washington is going to do whatever he can to earn scholarship offers and his on-field goals for this season are a step in the right direction. "I'm looking forward to having a winning season and getting past Beechwood in the third round to reach my dreams. My dream has always been to get a state title. And I want to get more college looks," he finished. FOX Sports Next will keep you updated on Jalen Washington.
