Coppell – DE Solomon Thomas (6’4, 260)
Rating: Thomas is rated as the No. 32 player in the country, the No. 5 defensive end. He is a Scout.com four-star.
Recruiting: Thomas is down to five schools. Alabama, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford. He is set to attend a visit to Stanford on October, 5. Stanford plays Washington.
Scout: He is a little bit in that Robert Nkemdichie mold. He is a bigger and stronger defensive lineman who can really run. He will get after it and make plays all over the field.
Superlatives: He won 5-5A District MVP honors as a junior, racking up 89 tackles and 8.5 sacks.
Coppell – TE Blake Mahon (6’5, 227)
Rating: Mahon is rated as the No. 63 tight end nationally, a Scout.com three-star recruit.
Recruiting: Committed to Baylor on 5/24/13.
Scout: Mahon came in to his own in the off-season earning the big offer from Baylor. He is a big-framed receiver, who was the go to guy in team seven-on-seven events. He will be a big part of the offense.
Superlatives: Only had two receptions in 2012, but still earned 5-5A First Team All-District honors.
Coppell - OL Bill Weber (6’5, 314)
Rating: Weber is a two-star Scout.com recruit, rated as the No. 113 offensive guard nationally.
Recruiting: He currently holds an offer from Tulsa.
Scout: Weber is a consistent performer. He will need to add strength, but is a hole opener who you can depend on under the lights.
Superlatives: As a junior in 2012, Weber helped pave the way for 4,000 yards of offense and and 11-1 season earning 5-5A First Team All-District honors.
Coppell – LB John Herubin (6’3, 230)
Rating: Not currently rated
Recruiting: He currently holds an offer from Toledo.
Scout: A blue-collar type of linebacker. He has nice size at the potion and seems to always be around the football.
Superlatives: 5-5A All-District honors.
Class of 2015 – RB Charles West (5’9, 175)
Quick Hitter: Had a huge season for a sophomore in 2012, rushing for 627 yards and seven scores. Will be a more featured player and could blow up on the recruiting scene as a result. A very quick back, who is built like a brick.
Class of 2015 – OL/DL Chris Biggurs (6’2, 235)
Quick Hitter: Earned All-District honors as an offensive lineman in 2012, but will now be moving to the defensive line. Biggurs’ father (Charlie) was the strength and conditioning coach for the Dallas Cowboys in the late 90s.
