Chandler Park Academy sophomore wide receiver visits for USF game and experiences his first Michigan…
Martin Visits Ann Arbor
Saturday was sophomore receiver Jalen Martin's first time in Michigan Stadium and he had a good day with the Wolverines. "I think it was good," he said. "It was a good experience to get a feel for the atmosphere. There were over 100,000 people there." Martin already stands 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, and his size and ability has already drawn an offer from Eastern Michigan. This was his first real contact with Michigan, but the interest is there. "I met Coach Singletary. He was just talking to me, introduced himself, and said keep working hard. He said work on that stalk block, because that's very important, look the ball in and keep working." The Wolverines signed C'Sonte York, a fellow Chandler Park receiver last year and he saw a little bit of time as a true freshman in the opener. Martin was obviously thrilled to see him out there. "I talked to him a little bit after the game. He just said he didn't expect to get in, because he thought he was supposed to redshirt, but he was happy his time came and I was proud that he got in and he's on the big stage and I'm filling in his shoes." This weekend, Martin will visit Michigan State, a school he camped with over the summer. "They've said the same thing, just keep working hard and the hard work is going to pay off in the long run." In week one, Martin caught four passes for 60 yards, one touchdown, a two-point conversion, and a sack on defense.
