After a back-and-forth recruitment in which Noah Brown looked hard at Rutgers and Ohio State, the four-star receiver from Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XIII settled on the Buckeyes.
He made his decision public a day after returning from an official visit to see Ohio State.
“It’s official, I will be attending and playing football at THE Ohio St. University,” Brown wrote in a tweet from his protected account. “I’m a BUCKEYE!!!! #Blessed”
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Brown was a big-time target for Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer, and give Ohio State a pair of four-star receivers from the tri-state area. Brooklyn (N.Y.) Erasmus Hall’s Curtis Samuel committed to Ohio State a few weeks ago.
After a summer visit, Brown said he liked the way the Buckeyes planned to use him on offense.
“They want to use me like they use me here, as an ‘X’ receiver, someone who can create a mismatch outside against a smaller corner,” Brown said at the time. “I can really go up over a smaller corner, run by a bigger one and they can move me inside against a linebacker and have a mismatch there. Really, they want to use me as a versatile receiver who can do a little bit of everything.”
