At 6-foot-6, 295-pounds, Matt McCann has the size, and according to some of the staff at Bishop Chatard, the ability, to be their next highly recruited offensive linemen.
"So far, I've heard from Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame and Iowa," he said. "I camped at Notre Dame and Iowa too."
Only a junior, he caught the eyes of some of those programs this summer at those camps. At Notre Dame, he had a chance to check in with two Chatard alums now playing for the Irish.
"The Notre Dame camp was good. I got some good feedback from them. Two Chatard players go there, so I got to see them, Nick and Zack Martin."
He also had a good time at Iowa's camp.
"Iowa was good. I was really impressed with their facilities, and they're adding on too. That was a pretty good experience too."
Last weekend, McCann visited Indiana, his first college game as a recruit.
"It was pretty cool. I had never really been to a college game before. I thought it was pretty sweet."
This weekend, McCann says he is likely headed to Purdue.
