Two teams with something to prove face off this Friday

Gilbert Higley @ Phoenix Christian

PC on Offense: It's pretty simple, the Cougars are going to run the rock and feed the ball to RB Scottie Jordan who has rushed for 518 yards already this year. They do have two capable WRd in senior Jordan Leary and sophomore J.J. Lyons but they have only attempted 25 passes this year.

PC on Defense: PC is looking to rebound after their loss to McClintock. They are young on defense with several freshmen and sophomores on the roster. LBs Oscar Ruiz and Justin Schlosser are their leaders.

Higley on Offense: The Knights have been very balanced on offense. Transfer RB Ricky Marshall has been a pleasant surprise and sophomore QB Tyler Bloom has played solid. They also feature one the state's top OTs in Quinn Bailey. They are averaging over 40 points per game.

Higley on Defense: They have played without their top defensive players in Logan Johns and Mason Johnson. Johnson has been cleared by the AIA and will suit up Friday, a huge boost for the Knights. Higley has "beaten" Yuma and Desert View but still given up over 25 yards per game. I think PC will be the best team they have played thus far.

Notes: No one said it would be easy for Phx. Christian to jump up from D5. They beat up on Antelope but took a beating last week against McClintock. Higley had to forfeit their first two wins of the year and may come out hot. Depth could be a concern for PC.
