Analysis: Aeron McNeal has flown under the radar because of teammate Brandon Powell. Powell, a Miami commit, has attracted widespread attention, but McNeal has not been so lucky. The two running backs are similar size and have produced at a similar level at Deerfield Beach.
McNeal is an ideal fit in a spread type offense due to his ability to put his foot in the ground and cut on a dime as well as his sub 4.5 speed. He reaches top speed as quickly as any prospect in Florida and is a big play waiting to happen. While on the short side (5-foot-8) he has some strength on his frame (175-pounds) and is tough inside runner that can bounce off contact. While he does not get a ton of opportunity in the passing game, McNeal has excellent hands and can spread out to the slot where he could be a terror in space.
Deerfield Beach is off to a hot start in 2013 with a pair of blow-out victories over neighborhood rivals Ely and Northeast, McNeal seems poised for a big senior season and Deerfield Beach is a team to watch.
