Kenton (Ohio) junior left tackle prospect Larry Wells talks to Scout.com about how his season is going and his upcoming college visits.

One of the top offensive line prospects in Ohio for 2015 is Kenton high junior, Larry Wells. Standing at 6’8 and 300lbs, Wells towers over the opposition.

Scout.com was on hand to catch Larry in action against Wapakoneta and he didn’t disappoint. Controlling the left side of the line of scrimmage was the norm for Wells who didn’t get beat all night.

“I played pretty well tonight and our team did too,” said Wells. “I work hard every day to get better. I want to see improvement every week in my play.”

Currently holding an offer from Akron, Wells has been in contact with many schools lately and is hoping to hear from a few others.

“I just have the one offer right now, from Akron. I am thankful for that offer. But I want to show other schools that I am worthy of more. I was at the Cincinnati game last weekend and have Indiana and Ohio State coming up. Coach Hinton at Ohio State sent me a message and said to keep my grades up and continue getting better every day. They are looking at me as a left tackle. I also plan on visiting Bowling Green soon, and whatever other schools would like to have me for a game I would love to go” said Wells. “I am hoping to hear from Michigan and Notre Dame as well.”

Playing for Division IV powerhouse Kenton, Wells and his teammates have some pretty lofty goals.

“Right now we are undefeated, we want that to continue. We want to do the best we can every week and ultimately go all the way for the state title,” said Wells.

Analysts Take: Wells ability to move his feet for his size is impressive. He has prototype size for the left tackle position. He is at his best pass blocking because Kenton passes the ball almost every play. He doesn’t have much experience run blocking, so it’s hard telling how good he is at that. He will need to continue getting stronger and quicker to contend at the next level against bigger, stronger, and more athletic ends. If he can do those things, Wells could be an impact lineman down the road.
