Thomas Wilson was recruited as a running back, safety, wide receiver, and cornerback by different schools and that gives you an idea of just how talented and versatile he is.
He had an impressive offer list, but on Tuesday, he announced that he wanted to be a Tiger.
"I have committed to Missouri," Wilson said. "I committed to Missouri over North Carolina and it feels good.
"I just felt good about Missouri. I have been talking to them a lot for a while, I really like what I know about the school, and I believe I will fit in well there."
Wilson has not visiting Missouri yet, but he felt strong enough about his decision that he wanted to go ahead and commit.
"I will go out there for an official visit, but I already know enough about the school to commit. I like the coaches a lot, I like their scheme on defense, and I feel I fit in well because their defense is a lot like ours at Buford. It did not matter that I had not been there yet."
The 5-foot-11, 180 pound senior out of Buford, Ga. does not know if he will play cornerback or safety when he gets to Columbia, but he is fine with either.
Wilson has won two state titles at Buford.
"I think I can play both well. I have played both in high school and I am good with either position. They run a 4-3 defense and I feel I can help at either position in that scheme."
The lead recruiter for Wilson is Alex Grinch. He played a big role in this commitment.
"I really like Coach Grinch a lot. He is young, we relate to each other well, we have relaxed conversations, and he knows what he is talking about. He coaches safeties too, so he may be coaching me there, so I like how we are getting to know each other."
This decision was not made by Wilson overnight. He looked at his options, thought about things for a while, and he actually decided Missouri was the school for him back in August.
"I knew at least three weeks ago that I was going to Missouri," said Wilson. "I just thought about it a little longer and it is a done deal now. I will schedule my official visit, get out there, and just focus on my senior season."
Wilson is a three-star prospect on Scout.
