With recruiting sped up, Scout.com is pleased to release a "Watch List" for the 2016 class with more than 75 recruits from across the nation.
This is not a ranking, but rather a guide for fans to get to know some of the big names in the class.
Here is a look at 13 players from the West to know, with the players listed alphabetically.
Brandon Burton, S, 6-0, 180, Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Skinny: The next young star from the vaunted Cavs program, Burton could end up on either side of the ball, like Marqise Lee, Robert Woods and Adoree Jackson.
K.J. Costello, QB, 6-5, 205, Santa Margarita (Calif.)
Skinny: Already off to a strong start as a sophomore, Costello already filling the big shoes of Johnny Stanton.
Micah Croom, CB, 6-0, 175, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly
Skinny: A part of arguably the best secondary in the country with the Jackrabbits, playing opposite five-star 2015 corner Iman Marshall.
Kevin Davidson, QB, 6-3. 210, Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley
Skinny: Few schools in NorCal have cranked out quarterbacks like SRV and Davidson will be a three-year starter.
Joel Dublanko, MLB, 6-3, 215, Aberdeen (Wash.) High
Skinny: The top sophomore in the Pacific Northwest got an SEC offer this summer after a big camp tour.
Drew Kobayashi, WR, 6-2 ½, 180, Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis
Skinny: Could be the best receiver to come out of the St. Louis program.
Chase Lucas, RB, 6-1, 180, Chandler (Ariz.) High
Skinny: Part of one of the best backfields in the region, Lucas is the top skill prospect from Arizona.
D.J. Morgan, WR, 6-3, 185, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco
Skinny: A big target for the Braves, got an SEC offer as a freshman and will thrive with Josh Rosen.
Marshal Nathe, OG, 6-3, 385, Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial
Skinny: Another top lineman from the Grand Canyon State.
Garrett Rand, DT, 6-3, 255, Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton
Skinny: Hamilton is always known for their elite linemen prospects and he may be Arizona's best underclassmen regardless of year.
Quinn Seau, MLB, 6-2. 205, San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine
Skinny: The nephew of USC and NFL star Junior Seau, he's the next Seau star from San Diego, like his cousin and brother in the past few years.
Boss Tagaloa, OG, 6-3, 250, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle
Skinny: One of the rare freshman to play for the Spartans, was all-underclass at the Oakland NFTC and got an SEC offer not long after.
Blake Walls, OLB, 6-1, 205, Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Skinny: Playing alongside two other Scout 300 linebackers in the 2014 and 2015 class, Walls is the next in line.
