Oviedo (Fla.) 2014 standout Chris Davis has been busy camping and will hit another this weekend…
Davis home at UCF
Chris Davis is staying home for college and is excited to play at UCF. He gave his pledge to the Knights last summer and couldn't be happier about his choice. "It's right around the corner and they told me that I'll be able to play my freshman year and they have certain packages for me and stuff. It just felt right for me when I was there, it felt like home," he said. "I think the offense is real good because they run the spread now, so they throw the ball a lot. As a receiver going there, that's really what a receiver wants to see. It's good knowing that they do that now." The 6-foot, 180-pound receiver is impressed with the Knights' 3-0 start to the season, especially their upset over Penn State last week. "I was proud to be a Knight that day," he said. "I think the season has been going great for me so far. I had a couple of mistakes in the beginning games, but right now, it's good." Davis plays quarterback at Oviedo but will play receiver at the next level. "I've been playing quarterback since my sophomore year, and it's fun, but I like receiver a lot. I've been practicing a lot at receiver and practicing different stuff, so when I get to receiver, it's just more fun to me because I haven't played it in a long time," he said. "(My best skills are) my speed and the way I run my routes, and I can catch." Davis doesn't plan to visit any other programs or explore any other options when it comes to his recruitment. He's all-in with UCF.
