With 1/3 of the season behind us, some teams are stepping up while some are falling back. Here is a look at the Top 50 High School Football teams in the nation.

Booker T. Washington is taking care of business like a No. 1 team should. Jackson is a good football team, and the Tornadoes wiped them out. Monsignor Pace is going to get walloped this week.

Miami Central (3-1) Miami, FL

Central's only loss went down to the wire with Washington. The Rockets took a trip up to New Jersey where Central ran over, around, and through Don Bosco prep. Central is off this week before hosting a solid Homestead squad.

Allen got a fight from Hebron, but the Eagles were too much in the end. Allen has already played two Texas powers in Southlake Carroll and Cedar Hill; they'll get another this week in Coppell.

DeSoto (4-0) De Soto, TX

DeSoto was impressive in its convincing victory over Cedar Hill. Cedar Hill has two losses and they're to two of the Top 10 teams in the country (Allen). The going gets much easier this week @ South Grand Prairie.

The Paladins did a good job of taking care of business against a good DePaul team in advance of their trip to Cleveland, Ohio for their showdown with St. Ignatius.

Karr took the week off it get ready for one of its toughest challenges of the season, John Curtis Christian. Karr has already beaten one Top 50 team in St. Augustine.

After a slow start to the season, De La Salle has it rolling again. The Spartans will put up a big number on San Ramon Valley who just got beat up by Folsom 67-36 last week.

Some states are in their sixth week of the season, but we're still just getting to know some of the New Jersey teams. St. Joseph was off last week, and they get a good Bergen Catholic team this week.

Manatee will have another chance this week to get some young players action after playing a laugher last week.

Northwestern got an extra week to celebrate after its big win over Byrnes. They ease back into their schedule with a very beatable Lancaster team.

Brother Rice can't be accused of looking past De La Salle Collegiate. De La Salle is a good team. Brother Rice gets another great team this week in a trip to take on Catholic Central.

In a defensive challenged region, Mater Dei is one of the exceptions. The Monarchs have only given up seven points in the last three weeks. The Monarchs will get more of a fight in this week's FOX Sports 1 Game of the Week, but they should still handle Edison.

St. Ignatius didn't have any trouble with McDowell in preparation for their showdown with Paramus Catholic. The Wildcats have a schedule that would propel them back into the Top 10 should they win out.

Miramar is no stranger to the Top 50, and they're back in it after a big win against St. Thomas Aquinas. The Patriots get a perfect opponent following an emotional win. They'll blowout Western.

Hamilton (4-0) Chandler, AZ

Hamilton struggled against a Liberty team that had been playing defense like a sieve giving up 60 and 48 to Corona Centennial and Salpointe Catholic respectively. Was Hamilton looking towards its showdown with Mountain Pointe this week?

We knew Marietta would be a tougher game for the Indians, but McEachern should roll past Kennesaw Mountain relatively easily.

Serra put a complete game together for the first time all season and blew out Dorsey. Narbonne was a Top 50 team last year, but they suffered huge losses to graduation and won't be able to keep up with the Cavaliers.

St. Francis put more points on the board than Punahou's three previous opponents had mustered combined, but it was still only eight.

Brother Rice put up a good fight in a game it was outmatched. In the end, it was Mount Carmel who prevailed. The Caravan will have to play better this week, or their return trip from St. Rita will be a long one.

A lightning storm spared Garland a beating they would have gotten against Coppell. The week off so to speak was good timing as the Cowboys head to Allen to take on the nation's No. 3 team.

It takes a special team to win back to back games as tough as a road trip to Louisiana to take on Curtis then turn around and beat Miramar. Aquinas wasn't quite up to the challenge last week. Nova is going to get pounded this week.

St. Augustine bounced back from its loss to Karr with a solid win over Covington. They will take the week off to prepare for Curtis.

The Bombers defeated a dangerous Indianapolis Cathedral team, but they'll have to play better to get the W against Archbishop Moeller this week.
