Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines High School running back Alex Gardner has not set the date yet but he has decided to whom one of his five official visits will go to. The 5-foot-9 and 180-pound seniors say he will take an official visit to Minnesota although he will not set the date of the visit until this weekend.
“I am going to take one of my officials to Minnesota,” said Gardner. “I talked to Coach Anderson, the running backs coach, and he wants me to come up for an official visit.”
Gardner who was committed to Western Michigan for a short time earlier this summer doesn’t have any other visits planned at this time.
“Minnesota is the only visit I know for sure that I am going to take,” said the talented ball carrier that has yet to receive a committable offer from the Gophers. “They told me during the summer that they are going to recruit me like they have offered and an offer could come at any time.”
The list of schools that he will choose for his last four visits will include; Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Middle Tennessee, Western Michigan, UMass, North Dakota State, Ohio, Old Dominion, Samford, Toledo, Troy and UAB, all of whom have already offered Gardner. The list of schools that Gardner is hearing from without offers include; Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest.
