Lorenzo Carter (6'5/235) of Norcross High School in Georgia is the No. 1 defensive end prospect in the nation in the Class of 2014.
Junior Mitch Hyatt (6'6/265) of North Gwinnett is the No. 1 offensive tackle prospect in the Class of 2015.
Usually we have to wait until All-Star week to see players of this ranking/caliber face off, and rarely do we get to see the match up across different classes at all.
But that's exactly what we had when North Gwinnett traveled to Norcross to take on the Blue Devils. The game featured a host of D1 prospects, but the headliners were the two men lining up against eachother.
The elder Carter got the better of Hyatt in my estimation over the course of the evening, but Hyatt more than held his own, especially in the running game. Hyatt may have lost the battle, but his North Gwinnett team won the war.
Here is a look at both No. 1 prospects in action head to head.
