Last season, Alex Grace burst onto the scene, rushing for 2,163 yards and 17 touchdowns. So far this season, he is on pace to eclipse the numbers he posted last season, as he stands with 948 yards and 13 touchdowns to date.
The experience of playing at the varsity level a year ago, has helped him build on that big debut.
"At first it was tough, but the team and everyone supported me. And it took a couple games, but I got used to it."
At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Grace has the size, and the speed (10.75 100-meters) to project to running back or defensive back at the next level. He says he plays mostly on offense for Swan Valley, but also sees time at safety and cornerback.
To date, he does not have any offers, but there are schools who are in contact.
"I've gotten mail from Nebraska, Indiana, and Navy. Ohio State sent me a letter, and I went to Indiana on a visit two weeks ago. Akron wants me to come visit too."
That visit to Indiana allowed Grace to see what the Hoosiers have to offer, and he came away with a good impression.
"The campus was awesome. I liked the indoor, the practice facility, and the stadium was nice. I didn't get to talk to any coaches, but I shook their hands and met them."
Behind Grace's rushing attack, Swan Valley is currently 4-0. They take on Alma this Friday.
