John Collins goes both ways for D' Iberville and believes he does some things well on the field.

"My speed, hands, agility, and just bringing energy to the field," Collins said.

The 6' 0", 180-pounder is hoping to accomplish a lot on the field this season.

"I want to lock down my starting spot and make a lot of plays for us."

D' Iberville almost won the state championship last season and are 4-1 on the young campaign.

"The atmosphere around the city and team work, hard word, and everybody wants it."

John's freshman season prepared him for varsity ball.

"It went good. We lost one game and had good atmosphere and hard work and everybody worked together."

What did he learn?

"I learned a lot. Middle school I did not know much about the game. I just played. I learned that everything is speed. Your grades are very important and you just have to go out there and have fun."

Which colleges have caught his eye up to this point?

"LSU, Ole Miss, FSU, MSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma."
