Harris Getting Noticed
Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian junior defensive lineman/offensive lineman R.J. Harris has held his only offer since the end of his sophomore year. East Carolina offered the 6-foot-2 and 248-pound lineman following the spring evaluation. That may be about to change. According to NFC head coach Robert Craft the junior has been hearing from both Florida State and Auburn on a regular basis as we get near the midway point of the 2013 season. "R.J. is another one of our players that both Florida State and Auburn have been by campus to inquire about and they have been calling me on a weekly basis to check in on him," said coach Kraft. Harris is strong and athletic and could possibly end up at guard or center in college due to his size. The junior comes of the ball low and plays with good leverage. He will have a chance to prove himself this Friday night when he goes against one of the most physically gifted offensive lineman in the state if not the nation when he plays against super-recruit David Sharpe from Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence School. In addition to the aforementioned schools Harris has also received interest from Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Samford and Troy. So far this season Harris has eight tackles on defense including three tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Please check back with Scout.com and Fox Sports Next for more updates on R.J. Harris.
