It was Just Time for Coleman
Will Coleman profile "I just felt like it was time," said Coleman on his verbal pledge. "I had been thinking about it a lot lately and I feel like Mississippi State is a great place for me to be for the next two years." Coleman, who was recruited by Coach Les Koenning, had the chance to speak with Bulldog head man Dan Mullen about his decision to wear the Maroon and White. "I talked with Coach Mullen and he was just as I excited as I was," said Coleman. "He told me how proud they were that I was going to be a Bulldog and how much they needed me there. "I just like what they have going there at Mississippi State. "I like the direction of the program and I looked at the depth charts and I believe I can make an impact there." The Bulldogs' recruiting efforts were aided by current Mississippi State receiver Jeremey Chappelle who enrolled in Starkville earlier this year. "Having a former teammate down there, just sort of sold me on the program," said Coleman of Chappelle's influence. "He has told me about how hard they work and how down to Earth the coaching staff is. "He said that they are real blue collar and that everybody in the program is working to get better. "He just told me about everything on the inside and what it was like to be there." The Texas native will get the chance to see Starkville first hand in the coming weeks. "I am not sure when I am going to take my official visit there, but I am going to take an unofficial too in December or January and go see everything," said Coleman. "I am excited about getting down there. "I am glad to get this done. There will be a lot less stress on me now. "Sometimes when I am doing my homework or going to class, I have a lot of coaches calling wanting to talk about what I am going to do. "Now that I have committed, there will be a lot less stress on me. "I can devote all of that energy to making my season a success and getting my classwork down. "I am excited about my future and I am ready to be a Bulldog." Coleman is a spring graduate who plans to enroll at Mississippi State in the summer. The talented defensive end chose Mississippi State over offers from Arizona State, Houston, Kentucky, Memphis, North Texas, South Florida, Texas Tech and West Virginia among others.
