Four-star 2016 RB Kameron Martin of Port Arthur (TX) Memorial talks about his trip to College…
Four-star 2016 RB updates recruitment
Kameron Martin will be in College Station this weekend to watch the Aggies host Auburn. "I'm going to A&M Saturday," he said. "The coaches want to meet my mom. Hopefully they'll offer me in front of her. They've been showing a lot of love. It would be a great feeling to get an offer from A&M. I look up to Johnny Manziel. He has them on point." Akron, Baylor and Texas Tech have all offered Martin. "I'm loving Coach (Kliff) Kingsbury and their staff at Tech," he said. "They're building relationships with recruits. Coach Kingsbury is going to get the best players, whether they're one star, two stars, three stars, four stars or five. "With Tech it's about your character and how you play on the field. I like the staff, especially Coach (Kevin) Curtis. Whenever I speak with Coach Curtis on the phone he says, 'Kameron Martin just committed to Texas Tech!'" Martin says he's a fan of how the Texas Tech staff treats its players. He plans to attend a Baylor game this season if possible. "I have to make it to a Baylor game," he said. I'm loving their offense. They're ahead of Oregon's offense with the numbers they're putting up." Martin is in good position to break Jamaal Charles' school rushing record. "I'm on a mission," he said. "I want to work harder than the man in front of me. I'm blessed to be a four star but I want to be a five, not four. I want to be the first from my city to be a five star. Charles was rated four stars coming out of Memorial 10 years ago. He was the nation's 14th-ranked RB in his class. "I have 660 yards rushing this season with nine touchdowns," Martin said. "I'm trying to get 1,500 yards. That should help me out with trying to get the record (4,000 yards)."
