Massillon (OH) two-way athlete Marcus Whitfield
committed to Toledo
Monday morning, as the three-star prospect ended his recruitment.
Whitfield, 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, plays both defensive back and wide receiver for the Tigers, and could play either spot at the next level.
"I chose Toledo because they've been recruiting me the longest, and I felt the most comfortable there," Whitfield stated. "I really like the staff and the players a lot, and the atmosphere there is great."
"Toledo is always one of the best schools in the conference," he added. "The way they run their system is a great fit for me on either side of the ball, so this choice benefits me so well in the long run."
With offers from most of the MAC and interest from Indiana and Michigan State, Whitfield's commitment is a big win for Toledo's 2014 recruiting class.
Toledo has consistently recruited well under head coach Matt Campbell, and their 2014 class looks to be a strong one. The Rockets added a big commitment Monday, when they accepted the pledge of Massillon athlete Marcus Whitfield.
Toledo has landed the three-star athlete from Massillon.
