Despite the slow recruiting process for Mission Viejo (Calif.) senior running back Alex Suchesk, he remains determined to prove his talent by putting it all on the field...

Senior running back Alex Suchesk (5-10, 185) from Mission Viejo (Calif.) had a dominant game last weekend, rushing for over 130 yards, including an 80-yard run for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter; contributing to the teams 70-17 win over San Clemente (Calif.)

Suchesk, although only playing in the first half and a few reps in the second proved a strong link in the teams success. His strength to get the extra yards after impact proved useful, helping the Diablo’s score on all but one drive in the first half.

Despite his dominance on the field, Suchesk has only received a handful of offers, and is eager for more.

“I have received offers from Cal Poly SLO up north, and the then Army back east, still talking to a few schools to see what happens after the season,” said. Suchesk. “I haven’t scheduled my official visit yet, but I am going to watch a Cal Poly game in a couple weeks.”

The senior running back, who was First Team All-Orange County last season, feels he has a lot to offer to a school.

“I am a hard worker, I’m fast, and will adapt easy to any offense that is put in front of me,” he said. “I just have to prove myself by working hard and putting it all on the field.”

Suchesk showed just that after transferring from Santa Margarita (Calif.) to Mission Viejo last year.

“I like how we’re diverse, and we have different plays instead of running the same thing over and over. The team really helped bring me in and fed me into the offense a lot and it allowed me to succeed,” he said.

Despite being new to the team last year, Suchesk rushed for 1,167 yards, scoring 28 touchdowns, and is on track to beat that this season.

As far as what he is looking for in a school, Suchesk feels balance is the key.

"I’m pretty much looking for just a balance of everything. I'm not really sure like what region, it doesn't matter to me as much as just the school, whether I like it or not." said Suchesk.

For now, Suchesk remains focused on the Diablo’s season and on maintaining their thus-far perfect record.

“I definitely want to win a CIF, Pac 5 title, then for myself my biggest goal is just to keep performing for my team, giving it my all every week.” said Suchesk.
