Cincinnati offers junior quarterbacker

Quarterback Tommy Stevens of Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central picks up his second offer from the Bearcats after visiting Cincinnati last weekend.

Quarterback Tommy Stevens of Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central visited Cincinnati this past weekend, and on Monday he received an offer from the Bearcats.

"I was hoping I would pick up this offer because our conversations had been moving in that direction before I visited," Stevens said. "It's a blessing to get these offers and just have a chance to go through the recruiting process."

Stevens said he enjoyed his visit, taking in both what Cincinnati had to offer in terms of on the field and off of it.

"It was a good game to watch," Stevens said. "They battled through some weather adversity and that was good to see."

"I liked the way Cincinnati presented academics to us," Stevens said. "They explained how the team went about school work and everything that was involved in the academic side of being a student-athlete there."

Stevens said one of the highlights of his visit was getting to know the Cincinnati coaching staff better.

"After the game, I got a chance to speak with the head coach, offensive coordinator and the quarterbacks coach," Stevens said. "They told me they liked my leadership and the way I bring guys around. They also like the way I release the ball and say my mechanics are pretty sound."

Stevens does not have any immediate plans in his future, though he has already visited Louisville, Indiana, Ball State and Cincinnati in the past month.

"I don't have visits scheduled right now, but I want to get to Indiana and Iowa soon," Stevens said. "Basketball season stars soon, so I'm going to stay pretty busy." Recommended Stories
